Located in an established Wanaka neighbourhood, this home consists of a split-level configuration designed to maximise views to the lake and mountains beyond. The wedge shape form of the main house is contrasted by the simpler volume of the rectangular garage. Deeply recessed windows and doors help to regulate solar gain. The living space flows out to a covered alfresco dining area to the west and offers a wind-sheltered courtyard to the east. Designed using a monochromatic theme throughout, charcoal-stained cedar contrasts with white brickwork and schist accents.
